Israeli settler colonialism and military occupation established the foundations of intractable conflicts in the region, becoming a model for contemporary colonial behaviour, and a root cause for the continuation of conflicts, tyranny, and violation of rights. Despite the grave violations of laws, treaties, and international norms, Israeli colonialism received exceptional Western support. SCPR reviews in this article the multiple roots of conflict established by the occupation, which did not start with the recent genocidal warfare in Gaza in October 2023, and will not end there.
