SCPR Participates in the General Assembly of the Arab NGO Network for Development (ANND)
Beirut, Lebanon – December 5-6, 2025
On the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Arab NGO Network for Development (ANND), the Syrian Center for Policy Research (SCPR) participated in the General Assembly of the Arab NGO Network for Development, held in Beirut, with the attendance of 58 representatives from member civil society organizations and partners, in addition to experts from 12 Arab countries, during the period December 5-6, 2025.
Over the course of two days, this gathering provided a space for in-depth discussion on the priorities for the next phase, ranging from civil space, rights, and development to climate justice, governance, youth participation, women’s participation, and other strategic axes.
The Center’s participation focused on contributing to the strategic discussions related to the “Context of Development and Strategic Vision.” The Center’s representatives presented insightful analytical perspectives, drawing on its expertise in the field of policy and societal transformations, to support the Network’s strategic directions and enhance advocacy efforts. The Center’s contribution also included participation in specialized working groups and strategic planning discussions, with the aim of integrating priorities related to peace, governance, and state-building amidst geopolitical shifts, and emphasizing the necessity of adopting rights-based development policies to ensure sustainable and just recovery in the region. This presence reflected the Center’s commitment to supporting the efforts of regional civil society in building an alternative discourse and developing institutional frameworks for joint action.
